OPSC PGT Selection Process 2024
The competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Post Graduate Teachers will be conducted in the following successive stages
i) Written examination (MCQ pattern)
ii) Personality Test and Interview (Viva Voce test)
Written examination (MCQ pattern)
- The Written Examination will be of objective (MCQ pattern) in nature and will consist ofthree papers namely Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper-III.
- each paper will be concise 100 marks.
- The minimum qualifying marks fixed by the Commission is 33% (thirty three
percent) taking together all the 03 papers
Interview
The Candidates who are qualified in their Written exam will be called for the interview process. The interview will be conducted for 30 marks.
The candidates in three times the total no. of posts of Post Graduate Teachers in each category (subject wise) shall be shortlisted and shall be called for the Personality Test/Interview on the basis of marks secured in Post Graduation level, which shall be qualifying in nature".
The final select list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in written and Personality Test/Interview, category-wise.
OPSC PGT Exam Pattern 2024

OPSC PGT Syllabus 2024

The OPSC PGT Exam Eligibility Criteria has been released by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) for its upcoming Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) exam. All the candidates are expected to satisfy all the OPSC PGT Recruitment Eligibility in order to be considered for the post. Hence, before applying for the exam, candidates must refer to the age limit, educational qualifications, nationality, and experience eligibility conditions for the OPSC PGT Exam 2024.
- Candidates who satisfy all the eligibility criteria of the OPSC PGT post are required to apply online for the exam and pay an application fee of INR 400/- including imitation charges. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PWD (with at least 40% disability) categories are not required to pay this fee.
- As per the OPSC PGT Eligibility for nationality, candidates must be citizens of India with valid documentation proof to be eligible for the post.
- Candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 32 years old on the 1st of January 2023 to be eligible for the post of Post-graduate Teacher. The OPSC PGT Eligibility Criteria for age suggests that certain age relaxations are provided for reserved categories.
- The Commission holds the right to disqualify any candidate at any point in time if in case the candidate does not fulfill the OPSC eligibility for the PGT post.
Candidates are required to meet all the conditions as mentioned on the OPSC PGT Exam recruitment notification 2024 released by the OPSC. The candidates who fail to meet even one of the conditions specified in the eligibility criteria, will be disqualified from the selection process and not be granted the OPSC PGT Admit Card.

Age Limit
As mentioned above, candidates should be between the ages of 21 and 32 years old on the 1st day of January 2023 to be eligible for the Post-graduate Teacher post. Educational Qualifications
The OPSC PGT posts require candidates to have specific knowledge to be able to perform certain tasks. Therefore, all candidates must meet certain Odisha PSC educational qualifications to be able to perform their tasks to the expected standards. The educational qualifications required for this post are:
- All candidates must have a Master’s Degree in the subject concerned with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
OR
- Candidates must possess 2 years integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. course from Regional College of Education NCERT in the concerned subject. Minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
- Have a B.Ed. or equivalent degree by the National Council for Teacher’s Education, New Delhi with B.Ed. from a recognized university.
OPSC PGT Exam Eligibility Criteria 2024- Important Points
It is very important for all the candidates to satisfy all the eligibility criteria for the Odisha PSC PGT Exam 2024. Only candidates who fit the OPSC PGT Eligibility conditions will be considered for the post and taken ahead in the selection process. Given below are the important points for the same:
- Candidates are strictly not allowed to carry mobile phones, calculators, or any electronic devices to the OPSC PGT Exam hall.
- Candidates with more than one living spouse will not be eligible to give the OPSC PGT Exam.
- The candidates must know how to speak, read, and write the Odia language. The candidates should also have passed the Middle English School Examination in Odia subject or should have passed High School Certificate or the final examination of class VII or above in Odia as a subject.
- Government servants (temporary or permanent) are eligible to apply but they must be able to produce the requisite qualification proofs and are within the given age limit.
